Orchard Park, NY – April 5, 2010
Curbell Electronics has taken an aggressive approach to sustainability and is addressing the issues of waste, consumption and disposal on all fronts.
Environmental sustainability programs started taking shape in 2006 in an effort to reduce operational waste and consumption through various activities and programs such as recycling, educating employees, adopting effective management systems and the implementation of lean manufacturing practices. Curbell further enhanced the programs by installing energy efficient equipment and partnering with service contractors, customers and suppliers on sustainability efforts.
Recycling more than 100 tons, Curbell Electronics has achieved “ZERO LANDFILL” status. This means no waste ends up in a landfill. Along with this distinction Curbell was able to significantly reduce operating costs, further inspiring interest and support in other sustainability efforts.
Striving for balance between meeting the needs of today while protecting our natural capital for long-term prosperity, Curbell embraces the Three R philosophy (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and recognizes that it’s the journey, not the destination that’s important. Curbell continues to search for ways to improve and has engaged business partners, utility companies and local governments in sharing ideas and strategies in the quest for business sustainability.
